Man Made

‘Nowadays, when we subscribe to the terms and ideas of “women’s art”, could we also subscribe to the idea of “male art” on equal terms? Now that feminism is fast reaching a dead alley of self-ghettoization, would more inviestigations and experiments of “the other sex” help to deconstruct or revitalize the once radical orthodox?’ from Forward of catalogue

The exhibition starts from the curator’s reflection on gender politics and femininity/masculinity of man/woman art. The catalogue contains an introduction by the curator plus essays by participating artists and academia on the topic. Biographies of curator, participating artists and seminar speakers as well as still images and a video CD of the artists’ performance are also presented.
